Decolgen Prin: Paracetamol, phenylephrine hydrochloride, chlorpheniramine maleate.
Description
Decolgen: Each tablet contains Paracetamol 500 mg, Chlorpheniramine maleate 2 mg.
Decolgen Prin: Each tablet contains Paracetamol 500 mg, Phenylephrine hydrochloride 10 mg, Chlorpheniramine maleate 2 mg.
Indications/Uses
Relief of the symptoms of the common cold, (including nasal congestion - for Decolgen Prin only), runny nose, headache, and fever.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adults: Take 1-2 tablets every 6-8 hours as needed.
Children 12 years of age and older: Take 1 tablet every 4-6 hours as needed.
Contraindications
Hyperthyroidism, hypertension, coronary disease; nephropathy. Concomitant use w/ monoamine oxidase inhibitors.
Warnings
Chlorpheniramine maleate: 1. This medication can cause drowsiness, so it is not recommended to drive, operate machinery, or perform activities that require alertness.
2. Avoid taking this medication with alcohol or other alcohol-containing products.
3. Do not use this medication in children under 1 year of age, in people with asthma, glaucoma, enlarged prostate, or urinary retention, unless directed by a doctor.
Decolgen: Paracetamol: 1. Do not exceed the recommended dose on the label or accompanying drug literature. Overdose can be toxic to the liver and should not be taken for more than 5 days.
2. Avoid using this medication with other medications that contain acetaminophen. This can lead to overdose.
3. Consult a doctor or pharmacist before using this medication if the patient regularly drinks alcohol, has liver or kidney disease.
4. If the patient experiences symptoms such as swelling of the face, eyelids, lips, hives, dizziness, rash, blisters, or peeling skin, stop taking the medication and seek medical attention immediately.
Chlorpheniramine maleate: 1. This medication can cause dry mouth, urinary retention, thick phlegm, blurred vision, dizziness, confusion, and abnormal blood cells.
2. Children and the elderly may be more sensitive to this medication and may experience more side effects, such as drowsiness, dizziness, hallucinations, dry mouth, urinary retention, low blood pressure, irritability, insomnia, and in some cases, seizures (paradoxical reaction).
3. Use caution when taking this medication with other medications that depress the central nervous system, such as benzodiazepines, anticholinergics, and antidepressants.
4. Use caution when taking this medication in people with high blood pressure, heart disease, hyperthyroidism, a history of asthma, or emphysema.
Decolgen Prin: 1. If the patient takes more of this medication than recommended, it can be toxic to the liver. Do not take this medication for more than 5 days.
2. If the patient has liver or kidney disease, talk to the doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication.
3. Do not take this medication if the patient has high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, or thyroid problems, unless directed by a doctor.

Use In Pregnancy & Lactation
Use caution when taking this medication during the first 3 months of pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
Adverse Reactions
Drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth; epileptiform seizures (large doses); skin rashes.
Drug Interactions
Antihistamine may potentiate other central nervous system depressants. Prolonged actions by monoamine oxidase inhibitors. Prolonged use of paracetamol may potentiate oral anticoagulant.
Caution For Usage
Do not use if the seal is broken or the medication is discolored.
Throw away any unused medication after the expiration date.

Storage
Store at room temperature and dry place, away from direct sunlight.
